That you, Adewale Adedamola Rukayat, on or about June 15, 2020, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, with intent to defraud, had in your possession documents titled ‘WhatsApp’, which representations you knew or ought to have known, was false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 6 (8) (b) and 1 (3) (d) of the advance fee fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No. 14 of 2006,” the charge sheet read.

She, however, pleaded not guilty.

S.O. Daji, the prosecution counsel, then asked the court for a trial date after her plea.

Daji also prayed the court that Adeherself, born Adewale Adedamola Rukayat, be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Reacting, the defence counsel informed the court of a bail application for his client and also prayed for a short date to enable its hearing.

Sherifat Solebo, the judge, in her ruling, adjourned the case to July 13, 2020, for the hearing of the bail application and also ordered the defendant to be remanded in the EFCC custody.

The 20-year-old social media was arrested by the EFCC along with five other suspected fraudsters in June during a raid in Lekki axis of Lagos state.

He was a hardened criminal, a terror and killer, one whom men of the security agencies will never forget in a haste.

A man mountain, towering about 6 ft 5inch, well built, dark skinned and sweltering eyes, he carried out his operations, like a movie, in the broad day light, with sophisticated weapons, and bullet belts and explosives strapped roundabout him. He specialized in robbing exotic cars on highways and robbing banks. Nothing could stop him, not even security operatives, he was totally invincible. He was Shina Rambo!

He was born in the year 1958 to a military man who was a bad egg in the service. His father was from Abeokuta in Ogun state, but his mother was a native of Sabongida–Ora in Edo state. His father had over 18 wives, as was the norm for soldiers to impregnate virtually every woman they met where they were posted to. His father used his military influence to rob innocent citizens, and always brought huge amount of money home. This used to entice little Shina. He recalls, “I remembered when I was about 7 years old, my father came home with a lot of money, foreign currencies, with blood on it, and they were using something like a woman’s scarf to wipe it, then I asked him, is this an animal’s blood, or human blood? But he wouldn’t answer me, they were just drinking, smoking, and merry making.

”Shina was already indoctrinated into the underworld by his father at a tender age of 7 without him knowing it, as he would sit in front of his son, to dismantle and assemble all sorts of weapons and then polishing them in preparation for an operation. This went on for so long till one day, little Shina, entered into his father’s room while he had stepped into the toilet, and saw a dismembered gun on the floor. He sat down in front of it, and bit by bit, he had assembled it effortlessly in no time at all. His father came out of the toilet, and saw his son, with a loaded gun in his hands. Shina flashed back and said, “That day my father was so disappointed, that he wanted to kill me, he grabbed the gun from my hand and shot straight at me, but I miraculously escaped out of the room. Then he waited for me to be less alert at night he came to my room with a machete and tried to behead me, but once again, I escaped, but the machete caught my left leg (he rolled up his trouser to show us the large scar, that made everyone sighed in pity). It cut me so deep I thought I was never going to walk again.

That day I knew I had graduated, all that was left was to pull the trigger, and I was so eager. Shina Rambo became so notorious in no time, and was hell
bent on succeeding in his career as an armed robber, that he went through any length to secure spiritual powers for fortification.

To the extent of pounding over 27 live new born babies in the mortar with a pestle, cutting off about 100 human tongues and cooking them to eat, visiting the spiritual river called river of life in Ogoja, Cross Rivers State, living in an Iroko tree for days, and sleeping in the cemetery.

He was given a spiritual wife who always followed him for any operation, she dressed like an Alhaja, people thought she was human, but she was a spirit, that was why they never saw her face. He said she was his personal driver, that she could drive from Nigeria to Cotonou, in the speed of light.

Hear him. ”I was involved in so many rituals, that I can’t start naming them now, I was so powerful, I went underground, inside trees that looked like a city, a lot of beautiful houses inside the tree, I had my own too. I went into a river called River of life in Ogoja, where a lot of politicians and wealthy men used to come. I had several personalities, I could change my form whenever I wanted to, that’s why the police were busy killing innocent people, and thought they were killing Shina Rambo.

The 9 herbalists that gave me that power, I became stronger than them, one day I went to their shrines, and killed all of them, so that they don’t reveal my secrets. I had too many powers; my spiritual wife could drive any car in this world or out of it, no police vehicle, or anyone for that matter, could ever chase and catch me during an operation. She was out of this world, and when she had completed her operation, they took her away from me. I could give anything to get powers, and the elders knew, so they also gave me anything I wanted. I once beheaded hundred men, and gave them the heads fresh, they were so happy with me that they made me invincible.

No matter the kind of bullet you shot at me, it was just like pure water on my body. I could give anything to get power, but of all the things I did to get power,
the one that still breaks my heart the most, is sleeping with my mother. My father is dead now, but my mother is still alive, and she lives with me she is 85 years old. Whenever I set my eyes on her, I just start crying. I can’t bear it.

Shina Rambo was a raging terror, he was infallibly dangerous, the police dreaded him, both in Nigeria, and Benin Republic, his place of interest for business. He would go to police stations, in broad daylight and kill every policeman there, drive to check points and open fire on every policeman on duty, he didn’t like the police at all, and was never afraid of them, he operated in broad day light armed to the teeth looking like Johny Rambo, in the popular Sylvester Stalone movie, “First Blood”.

He once robbed 40 exotic cars in one day and drove all of them in a convoy, from Lagos to Cotonou, unstopped. He was powerful; he was wealthy, and impenetrable. He was a tin god, apparently belched from the very arroyo hell, we all dreaded him. He had a wife and three children, but he lost all of them in one day during a bloody police raid whilst he was away on operation. His wife was his stabilizing factor his life changed afterwards. He says “my wife was everything to me, I was forbidden by the elders to sleep with any other woman apart from her. I could gather about 50 women around me in a hotel, and they will just be playing with me. We would smoke, drink, and sniff cocaine, I will give them money but I will never sleep with them. I will go back home to my wife and sleep with her. That was why the police never caught me. She knew my job, she knew what I was and I never left them alone at night, I operated in the day time and go back home to my family at night.

I had everything, I was very wealthy, I sometimes spent 50 million naira in a day, I did that a lot. There was one day that we were coming from an operation and it seemed as if my powers were going to fail me, the police and the army were almost closing in on us, so we had to drive into a crowd and threw millions of naira in the air, there was commotion, everybody was busy picking naira notes even the police, until we escaped.

I was too rich, but anything the devil gives you never lasts, he will collect more from you, it’s only the devil that will give you Fila, (cap) and ask for Iro and Buba (wrapper and top). I lost everything, all the money, my family; I was so powerful the police couldn’t catch me but I lost it all. I had to surrender myself to the police and I was arrested and jailed for 11 years.

While I was serving my jail term in Agodi prisons, Ibadan, Prophet T.O Obadare came visiting, and having been encouraged several times by the Christian brothers and sisters in the prison to give my life to Christ, he prayed for me and converted me, and changed my name to Oluwanifemi, and it was so miraculous, the next day I woke up and started speaking in tongues. It was during the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo, that we were granted freedom.

At this point, I was glued to my seat, the revival where Shina Rambo gave this exclusive confession was on an open ground revival in the ancient city of Ibadan. Right in front of me, on stage, was Evangelist Mathew Oluwanifemi, the once feared Shina Rambo, clad in a loose fitting shirt, black pants and a pair of leather sandals with a black Holy Bible in his hands, gigantic dark skinned and bald headed, still had those fiery looks, and stealth movement.

A Kenyan policewoman identified as “APC Maureen” is currently on the run after shooting her husband twice with an AK-47 rifle at Dago Area in Nyalenda, Kisumu following a domestic issue. 

The  Administration Police officer who is based in Kisumu East Sub County, allegedly shot her husband for giving their house help Ksh50 for lunch without consulting her and also not picking her calls. 

A police report which confirmed that the policewoman’s husband who is also a clinical officer at Milimani Hospital in Kisumu sustained injuries on the right side of the head just above the ear, revealed that the incident occurred while he was watching television. 

The police report read; 

“She stood at the door while armed with an AK-47 rifle. She told him she is going to kill him and herself then cocked the gun, shot at him twice injuring him on the right side of the head just above the ear.

“She then disappeared to an unknown place after returning the firearm to her fellow colleague APC Nancy at the office.”

K2TV reported that the lady’s husband was taken to Kisumu County Hospital where he was treated and discharged in fair condition

The man whose heavily pregnant wife cut off his penis in Taraba state has spoken out from his hospital bed.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, 32-year-old Halima Umaru, who is 8-months-pregnant, chopped off the penis of her husband,  42-year-old Aliyu Umaru.

Aliyu, who has two wives and two children – a boy from his first wife Halima and a girl from his second wife – groaned in agony as he lay on his bed at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe State, where he was referred to after the incident occurred in Taraba State.

There was urethra catheter fixed to Aliyu’s body to pass urine as his dismembered penis was kept in nylon for safekeeping.

According to a relative who spoke shortly after the incident, Halima began acting up after her husband took a new wife 3 years ago. On the day she chopped of his male member, the relative alleged that she had drugged him and this made him sleep, giving her an opportunity to attack.

Speaking from his hospital bed, Aliyu said, “I’m a veterinary medicine dealer. I trade in animal drugs. I’m 42 years old with two wives and two children. The first wife had a male child and a female from the second.

“The first wife Halima is pregnant. I stay in Tella under Gasso LGA of Taraba State.

“I was transferred from the Federal Medical Centre, Taraba to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.”

Recalling the horrific incident, Aliyu Umaru said: “After I returned from work, I got water to take my bath and ate the food prepared by my wife before I slept. I was later awoken by a sharp pain and I screamed.

“My wife chopped off my ‘bura’ (penis).

“It was then neighbours were alerted. I can’t say if my food or water was laced with anything with the way I slept deeply. My wife has finished my life and it is unfortunate.”

According to reports, Halima had been having issues with her husband and the younger wife before the incident.  The victim’s younger brother, 40-year-old Usman Umaru said the act may be connected with their mum’s plea that they should relocate, which Halima didn’t support.

He stated that the second wife visited their mother residing in Jalingo, the state capital, who urged them to relocate to Jalingo.

Usman stated, “We are originally from Lukari but driven to Tela due to the conflict. The family rented a house for him and they were to move from Tela to Jalingo on Wednesday morning.

“It was in the middle of the night that my phone rang and the caller was my brother who managed to tell me what happened to him. He was immediately taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Taraba, to stop the bleeding and undergo surgery. But they couldn’t perform the surgery because they said they don’t have equipment for his type of operation. It was there that they advised us to look for any available health facility.”

He added: “Our mum only insisted that my brother must leave Tela with his family to Jalingo. Already, his second wife is in Jalingo. My brother said his first wife was not comfortable with the arrangement. She didn’t want to stay in Jalingo.

“We told people not to touch her. The deed has been done and we can’t reverse it. We have left her to the Almighty God. Whatever is done to her will not bring back my brother’s manhood.’’

Appealing to well-meaning individuals to assist his brother, he said, “We are underprivileged and begging philanthropists to help us facilitate his pre-and post-surgery treatment. Right now we are expected to pay about N100, 000 for the procedure and medicine.”

Aliyu Umaru is reportedly stable and being properly administered with intravenous fluid as well as other emergency drugs.

33-year-old woman and her elder sister have been arrested after they connived to bury her baby alive in Kaduna.

The woman, simply identified as Hauwa, reportedly had her fetus removed and buried it in a shallow grave with the help of her 35-year-old elder sister Zainab.

According to reports, the two sisters checked in to People’s Club Hotel in Tundun Wada, Kaduna State, and paid accommodation fee of N2,000 just to execute their plan.

As they were digging a spot to bury the baby, someone sighted them. When they were done, they covered it with a stone.

The eye witness who saw them alerted the hotel management and they went to check what they buried there. 

While digging, they saw blood and decided to invite the police who came and arrested the two sisters. 

Details of how the foetus was removed by the two sisters is still sketchy.

24 -year old woman was allegedly stoned to death by her husband and his brother in a brutal honour killing in Pakistan.

National Highway and Motorway Police found a mutilated body with severe head injuries near the Indus Highway on June 27. They were able to identify the body of Waziran who lived in the village of Wadda Chachar.

Local police believe the woman was pelted with stones and repeatedly hit with a wooden stick during the attack in Jamshoro. 

In a video shared online, Waziran’s grieving father, Gurl Muhammed, was seen crying for justice beside her grave after the incident.

Authorities say the man initially testified that her death had been an accident but later retracted his statement, alleging that she had been killed by her husband Allah Baksh and his brother Kareem.

Both Allah Baksh and his brother Kareem have been and arrested and remain in police custody.

In a statement, Allah Baksh alleges that her own family were responsible for the stoning because they did not approve of Waziran’s decision to marry him.

A three-man joint investigation team have been set up to investigate the incident which police are treating as honour killing.

Some protesters on Monday July 6 stormed the US embassy in Abuja, demanding the arrest of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Timi Frank, Dino Melaye and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains, and an investigation of their link to arrested suspected Nigerian fraudster, Raymond Abbas Igbalode a.k.a Hushpuppi.

The protesters said to be members of Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF) held up placards which read “Say No to fraud, Interpol act now”, Interpol act and arrest Dino Melaye”, “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”, “FBI should investigate Atiku Abubakar.”

They also submitted a letter to the US Ambassador and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, demanding for a probe of Hushpuppi’s political allies in the PDP. They insisted that Atiku Abubakar’s frequent trips to Dubai prior to 2019 presidential elections may not be unconnected to Hushpuppi.

According to them, some PDP memebers might have helped Hushpuppi launder proceeds of crime.

The Enugu state Magistrate court on Monday, July 6, remanded a couple, Mr. Jude Ozougwu, and his wife, Ifeoma in prison for allegedly brutalizing their 10-year-old maid, Nneoma Nnadi.

The state police command today arraigned the couple before Chief Magistrate Agu of Enugu North Court 1 sitting in the Enugu North Magistrate District on three-count charge bothering on attempted murder. The charge marked No MEN/298c/2020 is between the Commissioner of Police vis Mr Jude Ozougwu ‘m’ age 40 years and Ifeoma Ozougwu ‘f’ age 24 years.

At the hearing of the case, the Police Prosecutor, CSP Paschal Nwachukwu, argued that the magistrate court lacked the jurisdiction to hear such a case. He added that the issue of bail for the couple as raised during court proceedings was premature, uncalled for, and against the dictates of the law.

“The evidence of this matter is grievous and weighty. How can one explain nailing a child as it was done to Jesus Christ, using hot pressing iron, sharp and dangerous objects on her even to her private parts,” he told the court

However, counsel to the couple, Emeka Orji, argued that the court should put aside the public sentiment attached to the case and grant the couple bail. Orji said the couple has two little children to also look after.

The presiding Magistrate, Agu, refused to admit the couple on bail and ordered that they be remand in the Nsukka correctional facility pending further advice by the state’s Director of Public Prosecution. The case was then adjourned till August 10 for a report of DPP’s advice.

The Caucasian woman who called the police on an African-American bird watcher, and lied that he was threatening her, has been charged for filing a false police report.

On May 25, in New York’s Central Park, Amy Cooper became upset when a black man named Christian Cooper asked her to put her dog on a leash in line with the park’s rules to protect the birds (read here). 

In reaction, Amy threatened him that she would call the cops and tell them that there’s an “African American man threatening my life”. True to her threats, she called the police, and even cried during the call, in addition to almost strangling her dog.

Then, before hanging up, she adds, “I am being threatened by a man in the Ramble, please send the cops immediately!”

When the video went viral, people were angered at how she weaponized the man’s race.

Subsequently, she was fired from her job (read here) and her dog was taken from her temporarily.

On Monday, July 6,  the Manhattan district attorney said Amy Cooper faces criminal charges for falsely accusing a black man. 

“Today our office initiated a prosecution of Amy Cooper for falsely reporting an incident in the third degree. We are strongly committed to holding perpetrators of this conduct accountable,” Cyrus R. Vance Jr., the district attorney, said.

Ms. Cooper, who was issued a desk appearance ticket on Monday, is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 14. If convicted, she could receive a conditional discharge or be sentenced to community service or counselling rather than jail time.
